Engagement Center Locations
The Engagement Centers are located in each of the residential neighborhoods. However, services offered use a variety of spaces within the neighborhoods (ex. Classrooms, meeting rooms, etc.).
Services- All of the services offered through the Neighborhood Engagement Center locations are FREE for all MSU students.
The Math Learning Center’s goal is to bring high-quality, friendly, free math help to MSU undergraduates. All you need to bring is your MSU ID. Get free help for most 100 and 200 level math classes, and even some upper-level courses. Our experienced tutors, trained by the Math Department, will answer your questions in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
MLC Help Rooms are available in several Neighborhoods and online.. Not all courses may be offered at each location, so visit math.msu.edu/mlc/ for information on the courses that are available at each location. In-person tutoring is available in hte following Neighborhoods:

If you need help collaborating on short stories, PowerPoint presentations, emails, school essays, applications, resumes, book reports or anything else, the writing center can help. The Writing Center offers appointments both in-person and online. Walk-ins are accepted if space is available. The Neighborhood locations are:

Social Science Help Rooms offers course assistance and drop-in tutoring for select ISS, CJ, EC, and SOC courses through their PAL (Peer Assisted Learners) Program. For locations and hours to to https://socialscience.msu.edu/undergraduate/current-students/student-success/pal-program.html
Peer Research Advisors are available to help you with any questions you have about finding, using, evaluating, and citing information. These undergraduate PRAs provide guidance on using the MSU Libraries and other resources to help you successfully complete papers, posters, presentations and more. Appointments can be scheduled online, and walk-ins are accepted if space is available. Locations:

University Advising has Academic Advisors within the Engagement Centers. It is home to any student that begins at MSU interested in exploring majors (exploratory preference) as well as a resource for all students who seek additional academic exploration opportunities that reside within one of our 14 undergraduate colleges, with a strategic focus on first- and second-year explorers. Express Advising over Zoom or phone can be accessed by completing the Drop-In Advising form or you can schedule an appointment at student.msu.edu (see the instructions for scheduling an appointment at the bottom of the page).

NSSC Peer Educators are available to help students build academic success skills. Peer Educators can help students with organizational skills such as time management, procrastination, and prioritization. Peer Educators can help students with study skills and strategies such as note-taking, test-taking and more. Peer Educators also provide tutoring in a limited number of math science and social science courses.

Olin Health Center is the primary Student Health Services location. Student Health Services offers primary care, allergy/immunizations, sports medicine, laboratory and physical therapy services, among others. See all our services here. CAPS is the place on campus for students seeking help for a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress management, homesickness, adjustment or acculturation, relationships, issues around race, gender and sexual orientation (LBGTQ), substance abuse, traumatic experiences, eating or body image concerns, and other personal mental health concerns. CAPS combines the clinical services of counseling and psychiatry in one setting.
Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling 517-355-8270. Most CAPS services are located at Olin Health Center, 463 East Circle Drive, 3rd floor. Some CAPS services are located in the Union.
Health Promotion aims to challenge the health attitudes, behaviors, and perceptions of the MSU community through education, environmental management, and harm reduction efforts so students are able to pursue personal and academic goals. As part of Student Health & Wellness, we offer an array of campus, classroom, and individualized educational programs, campaigns, and other strategies. Their focus areas include:
Recreational Sports and Fitness Services offers programs that are facilitated through three indoor intramural facilities, one multi-purpose arena, 27 acres of outdoor recreational field space, an off-site sailing center and shared campus facilities including tennis courts, golf courses, and an ice arena among others. The program specific functions include informal or drop-in recreation at any of these facilities; structured competitive intramural sports; programs dedicated for health, wellness and fitness; sport club opportunities; non-credit instruction for acquiring new skills; and unique opportunities targeted for persons with disabilities.

Attend the weekly MRULE Round Table Discussions (RTDs) to connect in community, discuss relevant social issues, and make meaningful friendships. RTDs are student led and offer a variety of community building activities. Students of all backgrounds, year of study and field are welcome to weekly MRULE Round Table Discussions.
The student D2L training course, Students – Getting Started with D2L, contains documentation and video tutorials covering the most commonly used features of the D2L Learning Environment as well as success tips and practice activities to complete.
