Emily Abrams has worked at Michigan State University since 2020 and for the TRIO SSS Program since January 2022. Currently, she serves as the TRIO SSS Academic Success Coordinator. Anthony Cano is an Academic Advisor for the TRIO SSS (Student Support Services) Program at Michigan State University. Jimmy Hutchful serves as an Academic Advisor for the TRIO SSS Program. Jimmy has been with Michigan State University since 2021, initially serving as a Resident Hall Director. He joined the TRIO SSS team in June 2023. Jimmy holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of West Georgia and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in College Student Affairs from the University of South Florida (USF).…
Angela Parker is the Office Manager for the Pathway Program, located at 209 Bessey Hall. Angela joined the Pathways Team in January 2023. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ferris State University. Angela loves to support the leadership, staff, and students of the Pathway Program. Before joining MSU, Angela worked for the University of Michigan-Flint in the School of Nursing Department and Office of the Registrar, supporting the staff, faculty, vendors, and students.
Jieron Robinson is the Program Director for the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. He provides strategic leadership and coordination for the academic operations, student advising services, data management, and non-academic programming functions of the TRIO SSS program.
Before joining the TRIO SSS team in the Spring of 2023, he served in a variety of roles at the University of Michigan, Kennesaw State University, and Eastern Michigan University, working in library services, student employment, advising/academic success, multicultural services, LGBTQIA+ student programs, Honors education, and DEI.
Martell Summers is a Student Engement Coordinator for the TRIO program, located in 209 Bessey Hall. Martell has worked at MSU for 4 years as a Community Director and 4 months in the NSSC. He has his Bachelors of Communications,and a Masters in Education. Martell enjoys working for the NSSC because every individual is so unique.…
TRIO SSS Peer Staff
TRIO SSS Peer Staff are upper level MSU students trained to provide leadership and guidance needed to be successful at MSU. TRIO Peer Coaches meet with scholars and participate in monthly activities involving relationship building with other scholars in the program and showing how to make the most of your time at MSU. TRIO Peer Tutors offer academic support in a variety of courses, in small group formats or one on one tutoring if preferred. TRIO Peer Tutors support scholars with in-person support in our TRIO Tutoring Center (215 Bessey Hall) or virtually via Zoom.
